No intermediary banks, no international wire fees. Overall, you’ll pay less than you would with a standard international wire transfer.
Payments are credited within the same banking day when sent before your bank’s cut-off time.
No SWIFT codes, no special accounts, no new apps to install. Simply pay from your banking app or online banking portal, just as you would for any local payment.
Before your first payment, please add us as a registered payee in your online banking. Unregistered payees face a lower daily transfer limit (around HKD 400,000 for most banks); registering typically takes 1–2 business days to take effect. Please set this up a few business days in advance, especially for larger invoices.
First time only — a few business days before your planned payment date, register us as a registered payee in your online banking using the Bank Code, Branch Code, Account Number, and Beneficiary Name provided. Activation may take 1–2 business days.
Open your banking app or your bank’s website.
Select “Local Transfer,” “Transfer to Other Bank,” or a similar domestic transfer menu — not the SWIFT/International Wire menu.
The SWIFT code is not required for this transfer.
Enter the payment amount in HKD.
Verify the details and confirm the transfer. For CHATS, funds arrive the same business day if submitted before your bank’s cut-off time.
Most HK banks apply a lower daily transfer limit to unregistered payees (around HKD 400,000). Registering us as a payee raises this limit (typically to around HKD 1.5 million), but activation takes 1–2 business days, so same-day registration may not be in time for your payment.
Yes, for smaller amounts FPS (轉數快) is usually instant and free. Daily FPS limits vary by bank and account settings, so larger payments may hit a limit error — if that happens, please switch to CHATS.
No. The SWIFT code is for reference only and is needed solely for exceptional cases — if your bank only offers an international transfer form, if you are sending a currency other than HKD, or if the recipient explicitly requires a SWIFT transfer. Using it for a normal HKD domestic transfer may route the payment internationally and result in unnecessary fees.
Some banks offer both CHATS (same-day) and ECG (Electronic Clearing, 1–2 business days, usually low-cost or free). ECG is fine if you are not in a hurry; choose CHATS if you need the payment to arrive the same day.
Payments at this scale often exceed self-service online banking limits. Please contact your bank in advance to request a higher limit, or arrange the transfer through your corporate relationship manager. Your bank may also request supporting documents such as the invoice and contract for AML purposes, so please have these ready.
We recommend using your bank’s app or online banking portal. Online banking is available 24/7 and provides the clearest way to select CHATS or FPS, enter recipient details, and manage payee registration.
If you have any questions about your payment, please reach out to your supplier — they’ll be happy to help.
